What Is Psychotherapeutic Counselling?

Sue (MBACP) is a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). As an integrative therapist Sue works with clients to explore mind, body, emotion and soul, believing that if any of these parts of self are out of balance, our whole being can be affected.

Sometimes it is not easy to find your own answers, or to know where to start, and it can feel scary and daunting to face your inner and outer world alone. Sue offers a calm and gentle approach to working alongside you with the struggles you face.

Sue works alongside clients to identify how connected or disconnected these parts of self are, which can aid in the unravelling of the root cause of the problem.Sue supports you to reflect upon your reality, within the context of your personal circumstances and the impact of this on your life.

Issues may present through anxiety, depression, mental health, stress, and lack of fulfilment. Sue integrates Person Centred, CBT, Gestalt and Transpersonal Techniques to help clients access their deep inner world where the client can recognise and resolve their problems.

‘To feel truly heard and listened to without questioning, challenge or adaptation by another’s own experience can seem such a rare and extraordinary thing– yet so simple one would think. But to be truly heard, understood and listened to comes from more than lending ears. It’s a stepping aside from your own experience and judgements to allow another’s words and feelings to be shared in all its entirety by the listener.’ (Sue Suddaby-Overton)
